Must follow the instructions to avoid dislocation

The person should avoid twisting the leg who undergoes hip replacement for six to twelve months. Squatting should not be done. The physiotherapist will suggest few techniques and guide about the day to day activities. If a person does not follow the instructions, then the bone may be dislocated and needs one more surgery. It is suggested to avoid climbing stairs or to minimize the use of stairs. Sitting in a firm and straight chair is important and recliners must not be used. Like with any other surgery, hip replacement also involves risk. The person will not be able to move much and there may be problems with blood clotting. Blood thinners may be used; there may be problem with bleeding and infection. The legs may not be of same length after the surgery, one must not sit too low as it may cause dislocation.
